Fiber Brush Pancake Slip Ring of 8 Circuits with 380VAC Voltage Routing 10A Per Wire
A slip ring can be used in any electromechanical system that requires unrestrained, continuous rotation while transferring power or data from a stationary to a rotating structure.
A slip ring is also called a rotary electrical interface, collector, swivel or a commutator. A slip ring can improve system performance by simplifying operations and eliminating damage-prone wires dangling from movable joints.
In certain applications where a cylindrical shape slip ring will simply not fit into the available space or a very low profile is needed, a pancake or platter style slip ring can be used.
The 38.10mm unobstructed through-bore provides routing space for hydraulics, pneumatics or a concentric shaft mount.
The LPK038 Pan Cake Slip Ring uses advanced fiber brush technology which offers several advantages over conventional slip ring contacts including multiple points of contact per brush bundle, low contact force per fiber and low contact wear rates.
Fiber brushes do not require lubrication and produce virtually no wear debris.
The LPTK038 features field serviceable brush blocks.

When would I use separate slip rings, as opposed to the capsule ones?
A separate slip ring can sometimes allow for size constraints or cost limitations, which is better than a capsule one. It also allows you to mate the rotor and stator in your own system as you desire. Our slip ring engineers can help you with their years of expertise to decide which approach is better for your design.
Why should I choose precious metal rather than mercury for contacts?
The primary concern is safety. Mercury is, of course, a toxic substance, so if your application involves food manufacturing or processing, pharmaceutical equipment, or any other use where contamination could be a serious threat, your choice should be precious metal contacts. As we all know, the leakage of mercury and the resultant contamination could be deadly.
